On December 14, 2025, Ali Garawi, co-founder and CEO of Dialed Labs, launched Dialed & Defend, a new charitable organization, from his Linda Isle waterfront home. The initiative commits $250,000 worth of recovery equipment to California fire departments. Fountain Valley and Pechanga fire stations have already received saunas and ice baths, with more installations planned statewide.
The launch event brought together community leaders and firefighters. Guests engaged with wellness lounges, sampled functional botanicals, and observed demonstrations of the saunas and ice baths intended for donation. Firefighters present shared insights into their work and the importance of recovery technology. Ali Garawi stated, "We designed this event to bridge two worlds," connecting those with resources to firefighters.
The formation of Dialed & Defend was spurred by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025. Garawi and his brother, Muha Garawi, witnessed firefighters working in conditions that caused significant physical toll. Their company, Dialed Labs, founded in summer 2025, specializes in recovery equipment like saunas, cold plunge tubs, and red light therapy for home use. They saw an opportunity to extend this technology to first responders.
Firefighters face long-term health consequences from their profession, including exposure to over 200 carcinogens and hazardous chemicals that accumulate in their bodies. The physical demands of carrying heavy gear, working in extreme heat, and enduring sleep deprivation lead to chronic inflammation and injuries. These factors, combined with psychological stress, often shorten careers.
Dialed & Defend aims to provide science-backed recovery tools to address these issues. Saunas help firefighters detoxify by promoting the elimination of absorbed toxic chemicals. Ice baths reduce chronic inflammation, accelerate muscle recovery between shifts, and enhance immune function.
The charity is a pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Fire chiefs from across Southern California have reportedly reached out to inquire about obtaining equipment for their stations, indicating a widespread need. Fire departments interested in receiving equipment can submit requests through the Dialed & Defend website. The organization will coordinate delivery, installation, and training.
Ali and Muha Garawi, who previously built the botanical wellness brand Dialed Moods, have a history of developing businesses with a focus on social impact. They intend for Dialed & Defend to leverage business success for measurable social good, beginning with this initial $250,000 commitment.
