Orange Coast Soda Co., a new beverage establishment, has opened its doors at the Irvine Spectrum Center. The venture is the creation of Justin Corey and Jonas Wixom, both aged 20. The business specializes in what the owners refer to as “soda elevated” concoctions, which are widely known as dirty sodas. Among the signature offerings on their menu are drinks named Dr. Coconut and Cali Cooler.

A dirty soda is prepared by combining a base soda with various flavored syrups, fruit juices, and a final splash of cream. Corey, one of the co-owners, provided insight into the concept's origins. He stated that these sodas, which incorporate flavored creams and syrups, enjoy considerable popularity in Utah, his home state. In Utah, such establishments offering these unique soda blends are a common sight, frequently found on street corners. Corey noted a particular contrast with California, observing that despite the state's diverse culinary and beverage offerings and “truly amazing places to eat and drink,” his family could not find a similar soda shop in the immediate vicinity during their visits.

This identified gap in the local market led to the concept and eventual establishment of Orange Coast Soda Co., which Corey described as Irvine’s premier dirty soda shop. The new establishment provides patrons with the choice to either select from a menu of pre-designed signature creations or to craft their own unique customized beverages. Customization elements available to guests include the addition of various cold foams, a selection of fresh fruit options, and an assortment of toppings. Examples of customizable drink profiles mentioned are the Creamsicle and Tropical Dirty, emphasizing a personalized approach that Corey characterized as “super customizable, super fun.”

The arrival of Orange Coast Soda Co. contributes to the continuing expansion of the retail landscape within Irvine, which is regularly welcoming new dining and beverage options. This trend includes a focus on diverse flavors and wellness-oriented establishments. For example, also located at the Irvine Spectrum Center, La La Land Cafe, which marks the 25th location for its brand, offers traditional coffee and matcha lattes, alongside specialty drinks such as its iced banana cloud latte, featuring a fluffy, sweet cold foam. Separately, at University Park Center, Ubatuba Açai serves a menu that includes açai bowls and a range of smoothies, such as the Pitaya Passion, Piña Colada, Protein Machine, and the namesake Ubatuba smoothie. The Ubatuba Açai menu also features a Cookies & Cream smoothie made with agave coconut, hemp milk, and Oreos. This variety reflects Irvine's evolving offerings for residents.
