Stanbridge University is moving its primary Orange County campus to the Park Place development in Irvine, beginning a phased transition in December 2026, as The Manila Times reported.
The healthcare institution, which is celebrating 30 years of operating in Orange County, plans to transition its educational programs to the new site while maintaining continuous service for its student body. The upcoming facility will feature updated learning environments alongside expanded student areas within a commercial center that integrates daily amenities, dining options, fitness spaces, and nearby residential options.
According to official announcements regarding the move, the Park Place location sits near the university's current facilities. The property provides structured parking spaces and direct regional transportation access, including proximity to Interstate 405 and John Wayne Airport. The campus footprint at Park Place also includes outdoor space designed for collaboration, walking and biking infrastructure, electric vehicle charging stations, on-site coffee shops, and dining establishments.
The relocation marks a continuation of the institution's three-decade presence in the city. Yasith Weerasuriya, President of Stanbridge University, described the move as a direct investment in the institution's students, noting in a statement provided to The Manila Times that Orange County has served as the university's foundation and home since 1996.
University officials confirmed that all current operations will remain uninterrupted during the construction and move. Scheduled classes, clinical education placements, and administrative support services will operate on their standard schedules as the phased relocation proceeds toward the initial December 2026 opening date.
Stanbridge University operates several instructional locations across California, including campuses in Irvine, Alhambra, Riverside, and San Marcos. The institution focuses primarily on healthcare education programs, ranging from nursing coursework to specialized clinical training.
The university's existing administrative and academic track record includes recognition from the Carnegie Classifications, which listed Stanbridge as a 2025 Opportunity College and University. Educational data evaluations from Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce also placed the school within the top 5% of national colleges for its 10-year return on investment.
Additionally, rating platform Niche designated Stanbridge as the top college for nursing in California for the year 2026. The university has also received formal workplace culture credentials, earning certification as a Great Place to Work.
The move to Park Place reflects broader land-use trends within Irvine's business parks, where traditional corporate offices continue to adapt for institutional, educational, and residential uses. The Park Place area, positioned near major transit corridors, provides access to both regional freeway networks and commercial support services that serve daytime student populations.
Following the announcement, administrative staff and project coordinators will manage the logistics of the multi-phase move. Stanbridge University plans to begin admitting students to the new Park Place facilities when the initial phase opens in December 2026.
