Several Irvine-based companies have recently seen notable shifts in their stock performance, driven by a range of corporate activities and market responses.
Tilly’s Inc., the Irvine-based youth apparel retailer, experienced varied movements in its shares. At one point, its shares increased by 5.9%, reaching $4.52 apiece and a market capitalization of $139 million. This rise represented a nearly fourfold increase from its 52-week low of $1.14 recorded in November of the previous year. In a separate observation, Tilly's Inc. shares were reported to fall by 5% to $4, resulting in a market cap of $124 million. At the time of this decline, the retailer's shares were trading at 62% less than their average daily volume.
Irvine-based chipmaker Skyworks Solutions also reported fluctuations. Shares were up 2.3% to $92.01, contributing to a market capitalization of $13.8 billion. This increase occurred as the firm's plan to acquire rival Qorvo entered its final regulatory approval stages, with shares having climbed 37% over the preceding month. On another occasion, Skyworks Solutions shares rose 11% to $87.71 per share, giving the company a market cap of $13.2 billion, as it moved closer to the final approval of its $22 billion merger with Qorvo. However, the company later saw its shares drop 9.6% to $79.82 per share, bringing its market cap to $12 billion. This decline erased gains from a previous Friday, which followed comments from CEO Phil Brace at a conference stating the $22 billion merger with Qorvo was in its final stages.
Eledon Pharmaceuticals Inc., based in Irvine, saw its shares fall by 6.2% to $2.71 a share, placing its market capitalization at $220 million. Veritone Inc., an Irvine-based artificial intelligence firm, reported significant shifts. On one Monday, its shares rose 10% to $1.22 per share, reaching a $122 million market cap. Despite these gains, Veritone's shares had fallen approximately 75% since the beginning of the year. On another Monday, Veritone Inc. shares jumped 13% to $1.18 per share, with a $117 million market cap. Mobix Labs Inc., an Irvine semiconductor and national security firm, saw its shares drop 4.9% to 89 cents, resulting in a market cap of $16 million. This decrease occurred after the company announced a production order exceeding $1 million for advanced RF sensing subsystems on a previous Thursday.
Irvine-based advertising software company Viant Technology Inc. experienced a 16% fall in shares to $10.34 apiece, bringing its market capitalization to $689 million. This decline followed the company's announcement of a public offering of 8.5 million shares of its common stock by a selling stockholder. Viant stated that it would not receive any proceeds from this offering, with the exception of shares sold if underwriters exercised an option to purchase up to an additional 1.275 million shares directly from Viant.
Rivian Automotive Inc., the Irvine-based electric vehicle maker, saw its shares rise 5% to $16, giving it a market cap of $23 billion. This increase occurred ahead of the company's scheduled participation in a fireside chat at the Evercore ADAS, AV & AI Forum in Chicago on September 29.

Shares were up 5.25% to $20.24, reaching a market cap of $910 million, continuing to rise after the company announced earlier in the week that it had received FDA clearance for its Mint patch pump.
