Alliant, an Irvine-based insurance broker, reported a 20% increase in annual revenue last year, reaching $550.3 million. This performance positioned the company as the largest insurance broker in Orange County by revenue.

The company has pursued a strategy of expansion through a series of acquisitions and the development of specialized services addressing emerging risks.

One such area of focus is the rapidly growing sector of data centers. Alliant has established a formal process to manage risks associated with hyperscale infrastructure and data center development, as well as related energy infrastructure projects. Alliant stated its new offering helps clients quantify risk and financial exposure across the full lifecycle, from pre-construction and construction through operations and maintenance.

Alliant is recognized as the fourth largest insurance broker in the United States and employs more than 15,100 individuals. Its services span a wide array of sectors, including agribusiness, aviation, construction, energy and marine, financial institutions, property and casualty, and employee benefits.

Recently, Alliant announced plans to acquire Nava Benefits, an employee benefits brokerage known for its artificial intelligence-powered platform. The terms of this transaction, announced on August 18, were not disclosed. In the month prior, a division of Alliant acquired Retirement Solutions Group, a consulting firm specializing in retirement plans for small and mid-sized businesses.

Amit Dogra, Executive Vice President of Alliant’s Retirement & Wealth division, noted that this acquisition reflects the company’s “continued investment in building a premier retirement and wealth business.” Retirement Solutions Group assists employers in developing their retirement programs. Dogra added that Retirement Solutions Group has an “outstanding reputation for helping organizations navigate the complexities of retirement planning.”

This strategic move aims to expand Alliant’s presence in the retirement consulting market. The growth in this area may encourage other firms to enhance or expand their own small-business services.

Further expanding its geographical reach, Alliant acquired the Texas Insurance Agency in Laredo last October. Laredo is a significant center for international trade, and this agency specializes in insurance and risk management for cross-border trucking. Concurrently, Alliant also acquired McAfee Insurance Agency, which provides insurance services in East Texas, specifically Mercedes.

These acquisitions align with Alliant’s ongoing strategy in Texas, which focuses on cross-border transportation risk. The company aims to integrate technology-based solutions with risk management to improve outcomes within complex markets in the region.
